Mumbai, 31st Jan 2018: Helmed by Acharya Pandit Anupam Rai, foremost Cultural Organization of the country, since 40 years Sangeetanjali, is leaving no stone unturned to promote the metamorphosis of music & dance from ancient vedic era till date. A move towards the cause, on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, a novel music &dance recital, ‘ANUPAM SRIJAN’, presented by Sangeetanjali will be held at Rangsharda Auditorium, Bandra Reclamation in Mumbai on 13th February 2018 at 6.45pm.
In his own words, the revered Acharya Pandit Anupam Rai, shares, “Vedic Directives are the springing source of human values and the verses of Vedas are the collection of the sounds (Naad) originated by Lord Shiva, Taal and Nritya by God Natraj and Swar along with purity of knowledge by Goddess Saraswati. ‘ANUPAM SRIJAN’ is anoriginal concept with the beautiful confluence of Classical and Light Classical music alongwith Natwari Kathak dance and Kutap (Orchestration). Here, we are showing the musical journey from Ancient Vedic culture to Mughal period till today’s Sufism with the blend of Music and Dance for the first time in Music World”. Connoisseurs of bygone era of music are in for a treat with this enlightening show showcasing the journey of music & dance through time, this Mahashivratri. He further adds, “The event aims to convey the message that youth is very much dedicated to ignite the society with traditional richness of Indian art & culture. The motive of this cultural event is to generate interest to the masses and especially to the youth in particular”.ANUPAM SRIJAN’ has some excerpts of Guruji’s researches like ‘Jaati Gaayan’, ‘Prabandh Gaayan’ and sketching on saw dust through dance, which will be one of the remarkable moments of the grand show. This uniqueconcert will be taking place across the country in 2018 and is an OPEN for ALL event and entry for which is FREE.
Prepared after an extensive research, this is a rare and unique concert, characterized by the amazing confluence of Classical Vocal Music and Natwari Kathak Dance, depicting the celestial journey of Naad (music) & Nritya (yog). ‘Anupam Srijan’ is a rare presentation with unique essence of an aesthetic blend between traditional music and dance with the modern technology. First part of the event will be dedicated to Lord Shiva and the second part is devoted to Mughal Culture. The recital will see performances by celebrated youth icon &illustrated vocalist Anuratn Rai, featured in Limca Book of Records at the age of 9, young, versatile Kathak exponent Shriya Popat along with Anurita Rai, having to her credit historic world record of 10,000 dancing rounds at a stretch in 2005. The concert will also be graced by Legendary danseuse Guru Maa Vidushi Reeta Rai.
The recital will be accompanied by AV presentation depicting the journey of dance & music and will be effectively narrated& explained by Acharya Pandit Anupam Rai, who has contributed thousands of compositions and various researchers in the field of music, dance & literature.The first half of the concert, Ancient Sanatan Essence will begin with the Shiv Panchakshar Stotra along with an extract from the 'Ravan Krit Shiv Tandav' and a Prabandh composition dedicated to Shiv, transformed into Natwari Kathak Dance form. Artist Anurita Rai shares, “We will be staging the two ancient, authentic forms for the first time in the history of music and dance at this show. This will be followed by a devotional and folk composition by way of Raag Bahar, Shiv Bhajan& Folk Song for depicting Shiv Vivaah on stage and the saw dust foot sketch will be the major highlight”.
The second half of the journey throws light on Music in The Mughal Era through, The Mughal Fragrance which will begin with the Tarana singing and dancing style that was developed in the Mughal Period. An interesting translation of Tarana Gayiki in Kathak Dance and a question answer round between the two, showing the rhythmic crescendo of varied patterns will be performed, followed by a Ghazal, spreading the message of love, affection and brotherhood. The concert will conclude with a Sufiana Qalaam. The presentation of 'Anupam Srijan' will be orchestrated, by well versed, distinguished musicians on the Tabla, Pakhawaj, Rhythm Effect, Synthesizer, Flute, Sarangi, Guitar and Dholak.
